Year 6 Eden Camp Trip

Start: 1st Apr 2025 9:00am

Duration: 1 day

Dear Parent/Carer,

On Tuesday 01 April, Year 6 will be will be stepping back in time and experiencing history come to life at Eden Camp Modern History Museum! The children will be immersed in the sights, sounds, and stories of wartime Britain at the award-winning Museum in North Yorkshire.

We will be exploring the many experiences the museum has to offer such as: original Prisoner of War huts and displays which help us discover the sights, sounds, and even the smells of what life was like during the Second World War. Each hut covers aspects such as The Blitz, Rationing, the Home Guard, and more.

This is an exciting trip which offers a unique insight into the challenges and triumphs of wartime Britain!

We will be travelling by coach from school to the museum, please ensure your child is on time for school as we will be leaving as soon as the register is completed.  We will be back for the normal pick up time of 3.20pm.

Your child will need a warm, waterproof coat and appropriate footwear, as well as a packed lunch with a small drink (no glass bottles please) unless they are on free school meals, in which case a packed lunch will be provided for them. They will need to wear school uniform. No additional spending money is needed.

In order to cover the costs of the trip we are asking parents for a voluntary contribution of £8.00.

The tickets to Eden Camp and the coach costs total £24.00 per child, so the school are paying the majority of the costs for this trip from our recent fundraising.

Payments can be made in cash to the school office, or on School Gateway.

We are required to obtain parental permission for the trip so we would be grateful if you would return the slip below with the contribution of £8.00 by Friday 28 March.  If we do not receive the signed form, your child will be unable to attend.

Yours sincerely,

Miss Flynn and the Year 6 team
