SCIENCE

chemistry (1)

In Science we use the Twinkl Planit scheme of work which follows the Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 National Curriculum. Planit carefully maps out the teaching and learning sequence for each science topic. There are plenty of opportunities for children to work scientifically meaning children are learning through a hands-on approach to science. Science is taught weekly and lessons are inclusive with resources adapted appropriately to ensure that all children can access the curriculum. There is no greater depth expectation in science, however teachers ensure that through a range of methods they are developing all children’s scientific knowledge and challenging all pupils.

Last year our teachers took part in a research project, and most recently have been introduced to Rosenshine's Principles of Instruction to understand different ways and techniques in which we can support our children to retain the information that they have already learnt.
