Burley St Matthias Primary School

The school believes, in line with the DfE, that a school uniform plays a valuable role in contributing to the ethos of a school and setting an appropriate tone. We strongly encourage pupils to wear our uniform which comprises:

• Grey or red jumper, preferably bearing the school logo
• White, red or grey polo, t-shirt or shirt
• Grey trousers, shorts or skirt (must be "schoolwear")
• Red checked summer dress
• Red or grey shalwar kameez
• All black shoes or trainers
• Hair should be worn tidily

For PE pupils are required to wear:

• Dark shorts and a plain white t-shirt
• Pumps
• Tracksuit and trainers may be suggested for outdoor winter games in KS2
• School jumper

For health and safety reasons, pupils are not allowed to wear:

• Jewellery, except for small stud earring and a watch
• High heeled or ‘roller’ shoes
