Governors

Meet our Governing Body:

If you are interested in becoming a governor, please contact the school to see if we have any vacancies.

  • David Hubbard: Co Chair

    David Hubbard is a foundation governor, and is on our resources and teaching and learning committees. David is a former civil servant at the Department of Health. He organises our programme of school assembly speakers and is our year 5 class governor.

  • Elisabeth Bullamore: Co Chair

    Elisabeth is a foundation governor, and is on our performance management, pupil support and teaching and learning committees. Her responsibilities include special education needs, child protection and children looked after and she is also our governor for reception class.

     

     

  • Vice Chair: Jessica Duffy

    Jessica Duffy is one of three parent governors, and is on our resources committee. Jessica is a manager at The Conservation Volunteers, and has worked with our children on several green projects including orchard planting in our local park. She is our Health and Safety and Training governor.


     

  • Kate Cameron: Co-Head teacher

    Kate Cameron is Co-Head at school and works Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday.  She has been at the school since 2007 and has worked in Leeds schools for nearly 20 years.

     

     

  • Debra Dettmar: Co-Head Teacher

    Debra Dettmar is Co-Head and works Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.  She has been at the school since 2013 and has worked in Leeds schools for 25 years.

     

     

  • Ashley Poulter

    Ashley Poulter is a staff governor, and is on our pupil support committee.  She works in school as class teacher in KS2.

     


     

  • Kate Jagger

    Kate is a single mother of 4 children, the youngest two attending Burley St Matthias in Key Stage 2.  She is a Parent Governor, serving on the pupil support committee.

    Kate originally worked as a Probation officer in Leeds and for the last thirteen years managed an inclusion unit for high school students in the West wedge of Leeds. She is our Year 2 clas governor.

  • Ann Roberts

    Ann Roberts is a foundation governor, and chairs our pupil support committee. Ann is a recently retired teacher and pastoral manager in a Leeds high school. Her responsibilities include attendance, year 3 and extended services.

     

  • Hahmiz Butt

    Hahmiz Butt is one of our co-opted governors appointed for their specific skills, and is training to be a lawyer. He is our year 1 class governor.

     

  • Momina Aziz

    Momina is an elected parent governor.  She works in school as alunchtime assistant and also volunteers in anumber of capacities in class and helping with our 'Pay as You Feel' market stall.  She is our Year 2 class governor and is on the pupil support committee.

  • Local Authority Representative: Vacancy

     

     

  • Nicola Underhill

    Nicola Underhill is one of our co-opted governors appointed for their specific skills. She is a Key Stage 3 leader at a high school academy in Halifax, sits on our teaching and learning committee, and is our Year 6 governor.

     

  • Hazel Barker

    Hazel Barker is a foundation governor and sits on our resources committee. She is a retired tax accountant.
