General Data Protection Regulations

In line with all organisations, Burley St Matthias School has a duty to comply with the General Data Protection Regulations which come into force on 25th May 2018.  This means we have to be very clear with you about the data we hold and the uses it is put to and to ensure that it is kept secure.  In order to comply with this and to be able to function smoothly as a school this means we need to keep up to date consent forms for us to use your information.

Please ensure that your details are always up to date on our school system and that your permissions reflect your views. 

If you wish to change the permission you have given us, you will need to inform the school office in writing by completing a new permissions form.

Retention Periods

Data is stored and retained in compliance with the guidelines from Leeds City Council.

Please note: personal data may be stored for longer periods insofar as the personal data will be processed soley for archiving purposes in the public interest, scientific or historical research purposes.

Subject Access Requests

If you wish to make a subject access request please address this in writing to the School business Manager.  Please note that your request must be reasonable and that we may ask you to narrow down the information you require.  If you are requesting information for a third party (including information for a child) we may have further things to take into consideration.

Data Protection Officer

The Data Protection Officer (DPO) for our school is Mr Hahmiz Butt who can be contacted via the school office.
